Large Intestine 4 : He Gu

Location: On the dorsum of the hand, between the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones, approximately in the middle of the 2nd metacarpal bone on the radial side.

LI-4 – Large Intestine 4 – Hegu

Indications: Headache, redness, swelling and pain in the eye, epistaxis, toothache, lockjaw, deviation of the mouth

The best way to locate this point is to squeeze your thumb against your index finger, then find the highest point of the bulging muscle. This should be also about level with the thumb crease as well.

When you press the right point, it’ll often be a bit sore when you press, so be gentle with yourself!
